Bifurcated fans are inline axial flow fans where the motor has been taken out of the airstream, allowing the fan to operate at higher temperatures. They are suited for medium to high volume applications with low-pressure development.

Advantages Of Bifurcated Fans

Isolation Of Motor From Heat Or Contaminants

Bifurcated fans are designed with a split airway, hence its motor is protected from the handled air. This is possible as its motor is isolated from the main air stream by a tunnel, which extends to the side of the main fan casing.

 

Higher Operating Temperatures

Given that the motor of the bifurcated fan is located out of its airstream, it is enabled to handle grease and fumes of higher temperatures.

 

Easy Maintenance

With the motor of the bifurcated fan located out of its airstream, the unit is not affected by contaminants, yet remains easily accessible for use.
